Bugul Noz

"BUGUL NOZ"In Breton mythology, the Bugul Noz ("Night Shepherd") is a fairy spirit that lives in the forests of Brittany. He is the last of his kind and is said to be incredibly ugly, causing him anguish. His appearance is so horrible that even forest animals avoid him, and he sometimes screams to warn humans of his approach, so as not to scare them away. Although he is not malicious (in fact, rather kind and gentle), he is always alone because of his hideous face. Short of this, their greatest desire is to find friends who can permanently alter their form.
